Knock and it shall be opened unto you (叩けよさらば開かれん, Tatakeyo saraba Hirakaren) is the third episode of the Junjou Romantica anime series.
The episode introduces the Junjou Egoist couple Hiroki Kamijou and Nowaki Kusama.
Plot[]
Hiroki Kamijou is sitting in a park remembering his fruitless relationship with his childhood friend and crush, Akihiko Usami. His thoughts are abruptly disturbed when Nowaki Kusama launches a toy rocket that almost hits Hiroki. Nowaki sees him crying and immediately drags him off to a group of men watching the rocket. Hiroki learns that Nowaki is a foundling. Nowaki later insists on Hiroki becoming his tutor, to help him with the high school proficiency exam. Akihiko makes a surprise visit, but Nowaki interrupts and confesses his love for Hiroki. He says he fell in love the moment he saw him. All he wants right now is Hiroki to fall in love with him. Hiroki denies his love and tells Nowaki never to see him again. Despite this it is shown later that Hiroki cannot stop thinking about Nowaki and actually goes to spy on Nowaki from the cafe across the street from the flower shop where Nowaki works. Nowaki sees Hiroki, and confronts him about it in Hiroki's apartment. This is followed by Hiroki admitting that he is falling in love with Nowaki and thus they have sex. The episode ends with both confessing their love to another.

Manga[]
- Nowaki tells Hiroki about his desire to confess his love before Akihiko's visit but in the anime he is interrupted by the doorbell.
- After the run-in with Akihiko, Nowaki tells Hiroki that he loves him and they have sex right away (and it's more graphic). This is the start of their relationship but in the anime, Hiroki kicks him out and then stalks him at the café.
- At the café, Akihiko runs into Hiroki and shares his first Boy Love novel with him that suspiciously reminds Hiroki of himself. Akihiko asks for Hiroki's permission to use him as a model and consents on Hiroki's behalf. Hiroki tries to stop Akihiko from leaving in order to put an end to this but Nowaki finds them together. Hiroki makes an excuse and runs off.
- Nowaki worries that he is a substitute for Akihiko and confesses that Hiroki is the first person he ever wanted after never wanting anything his whole life. He is uncertain if Hiroki loves him back but concludes that he does because Hiroki goes to the café to watch him at work for the last three months. Hiroki is mortified but tells Nowaki that he can continue believing that.
