Junjou Romantica Act 43[]

There is a break in tradition with Misaki Takahashi addressing Akihiko Usami instead of his brother because he is currently at the aquarium with Takahiro Takahashi, Manami Kajwara and Mahiro Takahashi. Misaki recalls that despite his thesis being due on Monday, Usagi (who materializes out of nowhere while Misaki and Shinosuke Todo were walking) confirms that he and Misaki will be at the aquarium. Unfortunately Usagi's two-day interview abroad was rescheduled on the same day. Back to the present, Manami questions Misaki about his Christmas date plans with his girlfriend which traumatizes him. Misaki talks about all of his past Christmases spent with Usagi and Manami comments how close they are and that Misaki must love him. Misaki is thrown off and rationalizes that she means love as a friend until she remarks that they are almost like lovers. He distracts the situation by taking Mahiro to the gift shop but when he finds teddy bears dressed as fish he calls out to Usagi and is stunned to see Takahiro who is also startled with Misaki's confusion. Manami tries to ask Takahiro about Misaki and Usagi's closeness but she changes her mind.

Misaki returns home to an empty house and realizes how lonely it is and that he was uneasy because Usagi was not with him. He has a nightmare in which Usagi tells him that they can not be together. He is woken up by Usagi who came home from the interview a day early. Misaki tells Usagi about Manami commenting that he must love Usagi after sharing his stories. Misaki admits that while the aquarium was fun, he was lonely and Usagi said he was lonely too. Misaki tells Usagi about his nightmare, which angers Usagi and he tells him never to underestimate him and that Misaki has to stay with him.

At the Takahashi residence, Mahiro asks Takahiro about Misaki and Usagi. Takahiro said at first they clashed but not anymore. She comments that they seem close and Takahiro concludes that it's because they are his little brother and best friend. Yet, Manami is troubled.

At the Usami residence, Usagi and Misaki have sex and as they cling their arms around one another Misaki realizes that Usagi is not the too dependent one like he thought but he is the more dependant one.

The next day an exhausted Misaki hands in his thesis.

Junjou Romantica Act 44[]

It is almost Christmas and as usual Usagi is half dead from reaching his deadlines but he still asks Misaki what he wants for Christmas. Misaki asks him to keep his deadlines and Usagi ends up collapsing from exhaustion. At work Misaki asks his co-worker what he could get for Mahiro and Shouta Kisa gleefully unloads an exceptionally gigantic stuffed bunny onto Misaki.

At the Takahashi residence, Takahiro brings up the topic of Misaki changing his living situation once he joins the workforce in which he evades until he blows up at his brother and accuses him of not knowing anything. Manami tries to diffuse the situation by chiding Takahiro for being pushy and Misaki quickly takes his leave with Manami at his heels under the guise of needing milk. Manami apologizes for Takahiro's behaviour and sympathizes over the idea of leaving the Usami home. She then kindly asks Misaki if he and Usagi are dating, which shocks Misaki and he runs to catch his train without giving an answer and leaving her stunned. He has a full panic attack in fear of Manami telling Takahiro.

Back home, Misaki tries to avoid Usagi by telling him he is unwell from overeating but Usagi sees the tears in his eyes. In his room Misaki panics over his brother's reaction and is interrupted by Usagi's incessant knocking. Misaki tells Usagi about Manami knowing but he wasn't surprised since he had his suspicions since the Kuma Park excursion. Misaki spirals over the fact that Takahiro could end up hating both of them so Usagi bundles him up and brings him to the balcony to cool off. Usagi talks about them eloping and creating their own world but Misaki declines the idea. Misaki feels better and Usagi assures him that he would never let him go and his brother would never hate him. Misaki decides to tell Manami properly and declines Usagi's offer to accompany him. He needs to tell her because he wants to stay with Usagi. They have sex and even though Misaki is scared of what he must do, he finds comfort in the fact that Usagi is there for him and he is happy he fell in love with him.

The next day Usagi gives Misaki pamphlets of possible places they could elope to which Misaki promptly refuses. When Usami gets a call from Eri Aikawa demanding his manuscript, Misaki realizes that Usagi is trying to run away.

Junjou Mix 3 - Haruhiko[]

We see Haruhiko Usami on his way to his mother's grave for his yearly visit and he curses his fate as it brings up painful memories. He runs into Misaki who was looking at pastries and decides to treat him with pancakes. Misaki explains that he wanted to buy sweets for his brother. Haruhiko mentions the anniversary of his mother's death and thinks about her far from perfect pancakes that he loved. They lived a happy life until his father came in the picture and Haruhiko learned the truth about his mother being a mistress. After his mother's passing, he joined the Usami family but could not connect with them, which is why he thought of the day as cursed. Misaki notices that he is brooding and Haruhiko mentions his mother's pancakes. Misaki encourages him to eat more so he could tell her mother and and continues by rattling off all of Haruhiko's achievements over the year. This surprises Haruhiko since he thought that he caused the hardships that led to her death and never considered talking to her. He thanks Misaki for providing a different perspective and tells him he is glad he fell in love with him. He buys a bouquet and realizes that the day isn't cursed because now he can talk about better things, like Misaki.

Junjou Mix 3 - Takahiro[]

Misaki arrives at his brother's home where Takahiro Takahashi and Mahiro Takahashi greet him with glee. They eat the cookies that Misaki brought over and Takahiro smiles fondly over the resemblance between his brother and his son. It inspires him to show Mahiro old photos to Misaki's embarrassment. He remembers back to when he was 18 and announced that he would raise 7-year-old Misaki after their parents' deaths. It was hard for him because Misaki prefered to have Takahiro make him food (instead of buying it himself) the same way as his friends' parents did but Takahiro was too exhausted from working and yelled at Misaki for being selfish. Takahiro ran to Usagi's apartment where he confessed that he lost his self-confidence. Usagi pointed out that while he did have a lot of responsibilities, it was important to not burn out and try not to overdo it. He encouraged Takahiro to call for his help when needed and that he could rely on him. That was enough for Takahiro to face his challenges and realized he wasn't alone after all. He came home to a sleeping Misaki who wrote out an apology. The next day he and Misaki cooked together. In the present, Misaki brings Mahiro to bed and Takahiro receives a phone call from Usagi. He tells him about the album and Usagi casually mentions that he wants to see Misaki's baby picture too. Takahiro thinks fondly of how Misaki and Usagi have always been there for him and wishes for everyone to be happy.

Junjou Mix 3 - Junjou Romantica[]

Misaki returns home to a seemingly empty apartment but immediately rushes to Usagi's office where he is out cold. Misaki sees his own baby pictures on Usagi's computer and is both mortified and furious. He demands to see Usagi's childhood pictures too and Usagi calls Tanaka and asks him to send some. Though Misaki was anticipating some embarrassing photos, he was stunned to receive family portraits in which Usagi is unhappy. Usagi finds them boring and is about to delete them until Misaki comes across a photo of Usagi with a bear in his arms (Junior) and a smile on his face. There are other pictures with him smiling that he doesn't remember being taken. Misaki realizes that Tanaka had taken them in secret and Usagi remembers Takana giving him the bear. Misaki scrambles to back up the photos before Usagi deletes them and comments how he was relieved that there was someone that he could trust to not keep his guard up. Usagi is touched that Misaki notices the smallest things and becomes handsy while suggesting that they take a picture. Misaki demands that he chooses one and instantaneously regrets it. Still, Usagi takes one picture of them together to send to Tanaka. When Misaki questions whether it would be better to send a picture of him alone, Usagi counters by stating that to show Tanaka how happy he is, Misaki needs to be there too. He tells Misaki that he is happy and Misaki thinks about how he was glad that someone cherished Usagi. Takana is happy to receive the picture and sees how happy Usagi is.

The act ends with Misaki receiving boxes of pancake mix from Haruhiko and Misaki insisting that it is not his fault.
